I have walked the footbridge at Allardale Park hundreds of times now. At one end, you are in the cool thickness of the tall pines. The other, the sun warms the tall prairie grasses. This abrupt change of landscape experienced by just a few short steps always illuminates how much of life is lived in the in-between; we are either leaving or we are moving toward.
Lately, I have been feeling like that bridge is the only thing I truly know. My life – and my work – is at the threshold of possibility just as I am walking away from my initial hopes and dreams for it.
I invite you to consider your in-between spaces. Contemplate the bridge in which you might now stand.
