Where we now find ourselves, as a society and as individuals, was not anticipated. In the midst of this pandemic, some are experiencing unimaginable struggles, while some, thriving. Whatever our circumstance, we did not expect to be here. We are in the midst of monumental change and we are all looking for direction.
I feel enveloped by change
Since the start of the pandemic, I’ve been nose deep in Peter Kingsley’s Catafalque, a re-imagining of Jung’s work with a lens pointed toward a dying Western culture. The volumes are one part the sounding of the bell that tolls for a world we once knew, while they simultaneously provide a road map for what we might become.
My colleague Katie Wedding and I recently did a podcast episode on Embracing Change. We discussed the discomfort that arises from the process of transition and how to navigate that transition with open-heartedness, knowing that Divine Love is steadfast.
The wildly swinging arms of change are about us all, knocking our lives – and a lot of what we…what I... hold dear – this way and that.
And this is true for EverAfter
There is a new bend in the road of A New EverAfter. Recently, A New EverAfter has had to close its brick and mortar doors in response to the bleak economic impacts of the coronavirus.
Since the start of the outbreak, the reach of my work has stretched farther than it ever has before, and my mission has become more crystalized.
I am at once deeply saddened and amazingly expanded.
This is the thing about thresholds. In their midst, we are aware of all that came before, while we sense where we now stand. In the doorways, we muster the faith to step through into a world unknown.
Still, with the convergence of all that experience, it is no wonder to see why change feels a lot like chaos.
we know that we must allow ourselves to be in the chaos, to be tossed about. For it is here that we come to know ourselves, come to know our purpose, come to understand the quickening of hope.
And the only way of actually learning the truth about the past and the future for ourselves is when the spark of consciousness we are has been rammed, inch by painful inch, right down into the silent depths of our entrails. –Peter Kingsley, Catafalque: Carl Jung and the End of Humanity
In the midst of this crisis, we have begun to see through the false intentions of ourselves. ….And we must now harness an emergent energy and inspiration in order to proclaim a new aim.
What once was
I will continue to grieve the physical space of A New EverAfter for some time. I miss the creaking floors, the ridiculously slanted porch, and the community that nurtured one another through its own aches and revelations.
I deeply loved the celebration of beauty that blossomed from the careful curation of the work of local artisans.
I miss the heartfelt conversations I have had with so many of you.
But mostly, I am grateful.
What now is
When I part the veil of grieving, I know that this bend is good for me.
I’ve longed to return to the simple tending of my home.
I missed my family. My friends.
My heart has ached for my garden.
I’ve longed for my beloved Foxfield Preserve, and I am now able to turn some of my attention back towards it.
I have been answering the call to go inward.
I’m reading. Returning to study.
My relationships in the mediumship community are deepening.
I have been able to quietly observe who I am becoming.
But mostly, I am grateful.
What will be

Programs like Spirutalitea remain, in new and accessible ways
Local programs will reach a larger audience online and in existing community spaces

The emergence of our online store [COMING SOON], featuring the joyous discovery of Wonderments.
I am energized to see my body of work unfold in this entirely new way. My heart feels full of possibilities when I consider the new partnerships that continue to emerge as a result of this transition.
I feel like I am returning to work that I have always done and loved – lifespan spiritual development – yet entering an entirely new world altogether.
And this is good…
Our community can only stand to benefit from fuller engagement.
Your spiritual development can be better supported while I remain able to gently care for my own precious life that I have been given.
And for that, I am grateful.
