A New EverAfter began with the desire to serve the local community as a wellness cooperative dedicated to restoring wholeness and inspiring hearts. My business launched with filled notebooks carefully stacked in my home office, keepers of scribbled ideas, strategies, and objectives.
I had so many hopes for my business.
The operative word in this sentiment is “I”. Actually, I could argue that “I” is the inoperative word. I desired a wellness cooperative. I desired annual objectives. I desired high profit margins.
And that went exactly as you’d expect…
All of my strategies fell flat.
Leaving my business to my own efforts was simply not working.
Upon this realization, I could have taken just one more business course to develop a new model. However, I had an inkling as to the real issue beneath my struggle.
I had forgotten to take my deepest held value into my work.
Forgetting to bring my god into my business brought unnecessary anxiety, missteps, failed relationships, and wasted energy. I found myself consistently fighting the current and trying to create a business I thought I “should” be offering.
A New EverAfter’s present rebranding efforts are really about remembering that my business was never really mine. It has always been my god’s.
I am learning how to listen and follow god’s guidance.
As a Spiritual Director, I invite the people I serve into better relationships with their spiritual selves. Improved relationship with the spiritual aspect of being human can benefit every area of one’s life: self compassion, personal responsibility, marriage and family, and yes, even career.
Working toward improved relationship isn’t easy but it is ultimately rewarding.
Entering into improved relationship often begins with learning how to accept defeat gracefully. We must acknowledge what isn’t working and be willing to start again.
“Failure” is the opportunity to begin again in the full awareness of your spiritual self. With the acknowledgement of our spiritual expression, we let go of the charge around anger and shame within our situation and surrender to what is waiting for us.
It is in this spirt that A New EverAfter emerges as the business it was always meant to be.
The Culmination of the Rebranding Efforts
As this rebrand draws to a close, A New EverAfter now:
Centers on Spiritual Direction
My primary call is to serve my Directees in Spiritual Direction. Private appointments now occupy the majority of the work week. Prior to the rebrand, my time was balanced between Directees, teaching workshops, and managing the storefront. In time, it became evident that my true heart lay with Spiritual Direction. While workshops and the storefront will remain in some form, service to my Directees holds the most important consideration. In recognition of this, a space for contemplation has recently been created within the storefront in order for Directees to comfortably await their appointment.
Recognizes the opportunity to offer a meaningful and unique shopping experience
A New EverAfter is an experience more than it is a storefront. It is a service-based business that also happens to offer the opportunity to shop for meaningful gifts on occasion. My main purpose is to serve my clients (called Directees) in Spiritual Direction. During the week, the space is used exclusively for private one-on-one Spiritual Direction appointments. The space is also used for programs and events. Therefore, we will not host regular store hours.
If you are interested in purchasing an inspirational gift for someone you love, there are three ways that you can do that:
- The Inspiration Boutique is open for your perusal before and after all appointments and programs. Check our Program Calendar for details.
- Receive many of our enchanting products direct to your door through our online boutique. Shop EverAfter exclusives and more from the comforts of home. (Launching October 2020)
- Wonderments are held just eight times a year and offer a unique week long event that blends life-enriching programs with a charming shopping experience.
Allows for a larger audience
With this rebranding effort, I am able to give more of my time to writing, developing program content, and have a little fun along the way. In addition, more content will be offered online with the hope that our community might extend beyond our existing regional boundary.
Watch for launches of:
- Charm School, a traveling cooperative learning experience! A New EverAfter is welcomed into the homes of those who are eager to share the art of divination and the joy of personal growth with six of their friends over a cup of tea and an engaging game of opportunity
- The ‘In Spirit’ Podcast, an inspiring conversation with my colleague Katie Wedding that points a lens toward spiritual development through our experiences as psychic mediums
- The Path to Re-Enchantment Online Course, an 8 week exploration of the joy and discovery of wonder blended with the practical, grounded application of walking the path toward wisdom
- The Path to Re-Enchantment Companion Deck to bring spiritual formation into your daily spiritual practice
Ensures that I bring all of who I am to the work
In this rebranding process, I have worked on uncovering and moving through my personal fears around visibility and offering the entirety of who I am to the brand.
The one area of my work where I have most resisted visibility is within my dedication to the practice of evidential mediumship. The more I deepen my own spiritual growth, and the more I companion others in theirs, the more I know that I simply cannot happily exist within a fragmented brand.
Going forward, I will be sharing more of my work as an Evidential Medium, as well as, bringing more of the tools I value for spiritual exploration into the mix. You can read more about how I understand these approaches to growth here…
I am excited about where Spirit has lead A New EverAfter since it began in 2016. My prayer is that I remain conscience of my god’s movement within its continued evolution.
As we step back into programming — and expand our offerings — I hope that A New EverAfter will continue to inspire you toward a fulfilling and connected life.
